Company Profile

Established in 1854, we are the largest independent lift company in the UK. The Pickerings Group, a relatedly diverse family of companies, has a substantial integrated network of branches throughout the UK and Europe supported by more than 500 directly employed staff.

We are a locally based National Lift Service/Repair Company, with over 150 years experience.

We design, manufacture, install, service, repair and modernise all types of lifts, either of our own manufacture or other people's manufacture and all of these activities are covered by ISO. 9001 accreditation.

Within the UK we have over 350 directly employed staff, of which over 140 are engineers dedicated to servicing and or installing lift equipment. They are located through 8 regional offices in Glasgow, Stockton-on-Tees, Hull, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and London.

Pickerings maintain an effective network of partnership sourcing and supplier relationships with key European companies.

The Company also have impressive in-house facilities for both training and research and development - a cornerstone of their commitment to the future

Our service engineers are all competent lift engineers with managerial support through regional office Customer Support Managers and Supervisors. Administration support is provided both regionally and through head office, operating a nationally networked computer system supported by our own sister computer company.

Technical support is provided regionally, backed up by specialist Field Engineers. Our own Manufacturing Division located at our Head Office have full design and manufacturing capabilities. We have our own dedicated Technical Training Manager to provide on going technical training to maintain our Engineers competence and keep abreast of technology changes.

Our dedicated H&S/Quality Manager ensures we continue to meet all H&S and quality standards and we pride ourselves on ensuring we are always H&S conscious.

We stock an extensive range of spare parts, coupled with key supplier agreements ensuring we meet all customer requirements.

We operate a 24 hour emergency manned breakdown service 365 days per annum.

We are founder members of the National Association of Lift Makers and members of The Lift & Elevator Industry Association.

1st in UK to be awarded Notified Body status under the Lift Regulations (conceptual design level D1).

Conceptual Design, procurement, manufacture, installation, commissioning and putting into service all lift types from mobility products to machine roomless lifts. Servicing, Callouts 24/7, Repairs, Modernisations and Effective Key Account Management, to all makes of lifts and escalators.
